SAE Institute of Technology - Los Angeles

At over 50 campuses worldwide, SAE Institute educates for careers in the recording, post production, and film industries. Our school focus is hands-on training: get students into the studios and labs to complete real-world projects. SAE alumni graduate with knowledge and experience – ready to become part of an alumni network of industry professionals working with top artists, producers and companies around the world.

SAE Institute was founded in 1976 and is located in 24 countries on 5 continents including Oxford, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Zurich, Dubai, Athens, Sydney, Milan, Tokyo... SAE graduates are audio engineers, producers, mix engineers, video editors, studio owners and managers who are working in virtually every aspect of the entertainment industry. SAE's Alumni Association is truly global.

Industry training programs offered at SAE in Los Angeles:

The Audio Technology Program Diploma is a 900-hour program training you to be an audio engineer. At least 360 hours of the program you'll be in the recording studios working on your studio and lab projects. You don't have to pay additional fees for extra recording and mixing time. As a student at SAE, you're encouraged to record, mix, and produce as much as you can, and we'll help you the entire way: from Intro to Audio to job placement assistance after you graduate.

The Digital Film Production Diploma recognizes the fact that digital is the future (and in many ways the present) of filmmaking. A 900-hour program covering the entire filmmaking process within a digital context; from basic theory to directing, camera work to screen writing and post production. DFP students complete a series of projects including a short film, documentary, music video and a final thesis project.

SAE's Digital Film Editing certificate course is all about constant practicing and completing multiple projects while studying – not just focusing on one big film, but rather targeting everything that happens after the major filming is complete: editing, compositing, blue screen, effects, DVD authoring, etc. and then doing those things in multiple genres including documentary, music video, and television commercials. DFE students build a complete and diverse reel in the 18 weeks they're enrolled in this certificate course.

The Electronic Music Production certificate course targets any genre of music that is predominately made using MIDI sequencing software, internal and external samplers. Students learn various software titles, and more importantly techniques to make your own unique sound. EMP serves as a great intro course for the ATP Diploma.
